Aconcagua Costa

Site for MAX cool climate Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. First planted by Errázuriz in 2005, no vineyards existed in the area before that time (livestock grazing land).
Only 7.5 miles from the cold Pacific Ocean with temperatures slightly higher than Marlborough, New Zealand but drier.
Soils have a thin layer (15-30 inches) of loam over a clay and rock base with metamorphic schist bedrock.
The “Terroir” provides crisp acidity and mineral notes. Beautiful property of 2,700 acres of rolling hills, 560 under vine; rest dedicated to harboring plants (95 species) and animals (76 species) to encourage biodiversity and balanced ecosystem.
