Chardonnay

2016

> LOCATION

The grapes for our MAX Chardonnay were sourced from the Manzanar vineyard, located barely 7.5 miles from the Pacific Ocean. The vines were planted in 2005 at an altitude that varies between 330 and 660 feet above sea level, with Dijon clones 548, 95 and 76. Soils have thin layer of loamy soil, placed on a stratum of clay and metamorphic rock (schist), providing the minerality in our coastal wines. These unique conditions areideal for growing cold-climate varieties such as Chardonnay.

Displaying an attractive bright yellow straw color, this Chardonnay shows a citrus profile with reminiscences of tangerine, pears and sweet cucumber, all framed by soft notes that reminds of toasted bread and dried fruits. Great structure and balanced acidity that adds tension, providing excellent length to this Chardonnay.
